Hallstatt Austria is an hour and a half drive from Salzburg.  The famous photo of Hallstatt is taken from the north point of the village on the lake.  If you are ever in Hallstatt, this is not a spot you want to miss.  Another good perspective along the lake is from the south near the Tourist Information Centre.  Often around this area you may see swans in the lake.

A 40-minute drive from Salzburg in Golling an der Salzach is the beautiful Bluntauseen lake.  It’s a rather small lake, but this feature allows the reflection of the mountains to encompass the whole lake creating a beautiful reflection.  We arrived just before sunset and rushed to the lake to find the sun setting behind the mountains creating a beautiful glow.  There is a car park in the middle of the small town, and afterwards a short 20 minute walk to this view.
